Who we are

The Polymenakos family has been involved in olive cultivation for three generations. The story begins in 1850 when our great-grandfather decided to settle in the village of Lagio with his family. In this location he bought a piece of land where he planted his first olive tree.

The World of Tasting

Join us in an exploration of Laconian oil by the company’s tasters who participate in various groups.

Production

Our family continues to invest in the cultivation of olives in the region of Lagio, growing the crop and planting new olive trees of the Koroneiki variety, which is special for our region, giving, due to the morphological characteristics of the soil, the altitude of area but also how close it is to a sea area, an olive oil rich in aromas and taste. Our crop currently consists of 15,000 trees.

Olive Oil Processing

In 1999, following the love for the olive and the love for our region, we decided to establish the olive press in order to press the olives of our production as well as those of the other producers in the region in order to have the best quality characteristics for the olive oil that comes exclusively from variety koroneiki.

Over the years, the rural areas that are integrated increase, as a result of which we also have the production of olive oil from the Athinolia variety.

Standardization

In 2006 the company began to expand into the area of standardization. The reason for this action was the promotion of the olive oil that we produce directly on the market under the appropriate conditions, without the intervention of intermediaries. The purpose is to provide the immediacy of Greek extra virgin olive oil, and especially of our region, to the consumer in all corners of the world.

Exhibition

The olive oil exhibition located opposite the olive and oil museum in Sparta gives everyone the opportunity to get to know and taste Laconian olive oil, as well as a guided tour of a place where everything has to do with olive oil.
