Who we are

The company “POLYMENAKOS-MAXOULI SA” has been active in the olive oil sector since 1999, specializing in the reception, crushing, pressing of olives, standardization, and marketing.

We are located in the heart of Laconia, in Sparta, specifically in Laghio, a region known for its high-quality olive oil and traditional olive-oil-based flavors in the Peloponnese. Our area is renowned for “Sparta olive oil”, a premium product that is a key element of Greek gastronomy.

The World of Tasting

Production

The Polymenakos family has been involved in olive cultivation and high-quality olive oil production for three generations, continuing a tradition that began in 1850. Our great-grandfather settled in the village of Laghio with his family and bought a piece of land where he planted his first olive tree.

Since then, our family has continuously invested in olive cultivation in the Laghio region, steadily expanding our groves and planting new Koroneiki variety olive trees. This variety is particularly suited to our region, as the terrain, altitude, and proximity to the sea result in extra virgin olive oil rich in aroma and flavor.

Olive Oil Processing

In 1999, driven by our love for olives and our homeland, we founded our olive mill to press olives from our own production and that of other local producers. Our goal was to preserve and highlight the exceptional quality characteristics of olive oil derived exclusively from the superior Koroneiki variety.

The production process of our extra virgin olive oil ensures that all its nutrients are preserved, offering a product of high nutritional value. Laconian olive oil is recognized for its unique taste and exceptional quality, making it a true treasure of Greek gastronomy.

Standardization

In 2006, the company expanded into the field of standardization, further enhancing the quality and distribution of Greek olive oil.

The motivation behind this move was to promote the extra virgin olive oil we produce directly to the market under optimal conditions and without intermediaries. In this way, we ensure that our oil retains its authentic quality and reaches the consumer in the best possible condition.

Exhibition

The olive oil exhibition located opposite the olive and oil museum in Sparta gives everyone the opportunity to get to know and taste Laconian olive oil, as well as a guided tour of a place where everything has to do with olive oil.
